Son & Father | logo design

Son & Father are two gentlemen distilling their passion for handcrafted woodwork and sartorial lifestyle into men's accessories. We were asked to create a mark that was manly and telling of quality workmanship, yet serious and elegant. Grungy industrialness or outdoorsy influences proven to be out of the question. We decided to go with stable and unflashy wordmark that would look crafted and not manufactured even without a lot of detail. Open letter spacing solidifies the long name and Gill Sans gives a nod to English style. Interwoven ampersand is of main interest, symbolising family bond that is at the heart of client's business.
