Old Summer Palace is a large royal palace in the Qing Dynasty, it was the famous royal garden too during that time. Its garden area is more than 350 hectares, with the construction area of 200 thousand square meters. Inside it there are more than 150 individual scenery gardens. Because of its large garden area and unique architectural design that I picked the typical architectural structure of Old Summer Palace for visual information design while adopting the approach of the perspective of information dissemination. When information is shared, information disseminators need to use certain information to disseminate media to encode information that they want to spread and share, and to convey their wills and feelings through the combination and morphological changes of the basic unit elements of media. The visual information graph meets the people's fast pace of information reading needs, and it can also enable the recipient to know and understand the information content in a timely and accurate manner. In the design of information chart, its not only pays attention to the integration and transmission of information resources, but also rich in the emotion and thinking of the designer. With regard to the design of architectural illustrations in the information graph, and then restore the Old Summer Palace in the design of architectural form through the collection of numbers of data and pictures, this is not only a simple process of analysis and collection of information, but is true understanding of information, knowledge and data, based on Culture Communication, it is a transmission of inner feelings and thinking through design, and there is a need for artistic creation with knowledge. With connotation and significance on its surface decoration; on the base of mutual understanding and communication; with the help of visual language, such as Chinese characters, colors, spaces, symbols, figures, etc., we can create emotional experience with the combination of rationality and sensibility for the information recipient.
