Sweet & Wild Soft Purple and Gold Aster Flowers

I went for a run through the Boise foothills shortly after a soft rainstorm. I had to stop and take photos of these adorable flowers. They look a lot like daisies, but they are purple with gold centers called Aster Flowers. These wildflowers can be found in big clumps all over our foothills.

I came home and painted these flowers and flower buds with watercolor. Then I had all kinds of fun with some pen and ink to finish them off and give them some character. The pattern repeat was created in photoshop from a scan of my flower paintings.
