#005: Design an app icon. What best represents the brand or product? Or is it incredibly unique? Does it look great at a distance and does it stand out when put on your home screen alongside other apps?

Process: That same conference that inspired me to do this challenge, also had Stephen Frykholm from Herman Miller. Herman Miller is responsible for creating a ton of mid-century furniture that is now iconic.

One of those pieces is the eames chair. About a month ago, I was listening to a 99% Invisible podcast about knockoff furniture. It was all about how people would create rip-offs of iconic furniture and it was becoming a badge of honor to have an original design.

Long story short, the whole concept of this app is you can share your eames chair and call out people who have fake ones. It gives me a chance to do some vector work and do that mod style that is reminiscent of Alexander Girard (who also worked at Herman Miller).

One week down! 19 more to go!
