Nemo Me Impune Lacessit

Latin for "No one can harm me unpunished"

I had to do some reading for my English class this past week and one of the pieces of fiction we had to read was The Cask of Amontillado by Edger Allen Poe. The story is of a man, Montresor, who enacts his revenge on another man, Fortunato, for a multitude of insults. Montresor waits until Fortunato is drunk then lures him into the catacombs under his house with a promise of rare wine. He chains him to a wall and leaves him there sealing the entrance to the catacombs and leaving Fortunato to die. At one point in the story the two men are talking about Montresor's family crest which reads "Nemo Me Impune Lacessit". The imagery is different than described in the story but I liked the phrase and decided to run with it.
