DC SDCC Shadow Boxes

For San Diego Comic Con this past year I was given the opportunity to help DC with designing some large scale mural shadow boxes to advertise their upcoming streaming service. The idea was to take iconic scenes and storylines from the big 3 (Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman) and create a 10 foot by 30 foot experience for each. I'll be posting shots from the show and from my other files, but I wanted to start by sharing a single panel breakdown on how we went about tackling the depth of field to mirror a comic layout.

This depicts the iconic fight between Doomsday and Superman during the Death of Superman storyline. The artwork was designed to reflect the original illustrator, Dan Jurgens.
