Baken Packaging Design

The purpose of this project was to repackage an existing item both in function and form. The way bacon is currently packaged and sold it is almost impossible to retrieve the raw bacon from the plastic, cook it, somehow store the opened package and keep hands clean. With this redesign, bacon lovers just have to remove the roll of bacon from the canister, unroll it, tear along the perforated line, place on a baking sheet, remove plastic, bake and enjoy with grease-free hands.
Baken is named after the brand’s Dutch heritage and the technique of cooking the bacon in the oven rather than in a frying pan.
