Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) is a subsidiary of the Indian Railways that handles the catering, tourism and online ticketing operations of the Indian railways. IRCTC online ticketing system is a large scale utilitarian project and that comes with a baggage of constraints. In spite of their recent attempt at redesigning the entire platform (pun intended) there is still a lot of place to improve within those constraints.

This is my interpretation of how the user interface for 'Sign up' (Mega sign up in this case) could be improved just by following basic gestalts and visual hierarchy without adding or removing anything from the existing iteration. Also keeping in mind that progressive disclosure of information cannot be done in this case as it comes at the cost of loading time.

Key things I focused on:
-- A strong grid layout (alignments, scales, space etc.)
-- A more legible typeface combined with type hierarchy (without costing the file size)
-- A better usage of text field labels and hints for accessibility

A little intro:
I have built multiple products for the past few years only to realize that most of them ended up in the stage of MVPs with stress on bare minimum visual design. In order to challenge myself I am participating in this dailyUI (to showcase something other than good ol' wireframes). Will be experimenting on both original concepts and tiny redesigns.
