Alexandr Column St. Petersburg

Alexandrian column is named for Emperor Alexander I and the monument was erected after the victory in the war with Napoleon.

The column is a single piece of red granite from Virolahti, Finland and it weighs 600 tones.

It's situated on the Palace Square in front of the Hermitage from previous post (it's behind the scene on this picture).
