William Brown
I'm really rather proud of this one. It's one of my illustrations from the most recent Black Supersheroes exhibition, where we're taking forgotten heroes from British history and transforming them into superheroes. This particularly wonderful woman was named William Brown, who posed as a man so that she could serve as in the Royal Navy for upwards of eleven years. No one knows her real name.
