Personas for tech startup

Before user testing and following stakeholder interviews we put together a set of simple personas that would help guide us when making important design decisions and participant recruiting.

I've found using those big-ass, super in-depth templates for personas forces you down a path and sometimes simple but focused personas are all you need. How do you do yours?
