AM Radio: Interactive Art Installation

Screenshot from an interactive art installation. The piece generated a visual response based on the sound from an AM Radio bandwidth. I hacked the dials of a retro radio, hooked it up to an Arduino microcontroller, which then fed a user's response to a computer. The visual output was projected 10ft by 8ft onto a gallery wall.

Depending on how a participant would turn the frequency and sound dials would determine the visual output: dark heavy visuals for loud or distorted static noise. Whereas light, minimal visuals would represent quiet areas of the radio bandwidth.
