DailyUI - 001 - Sign Up

Recently, a group of UX folks I work with have decided it’s time to extend past the design system we’ve been beholden to for the past couple of years. A lot of great work was done by some very skilled individuals at GE Digital to create predix-ui.com, the underlying design principles, and components therein. It took a lot of great aspects of Material Design, and tweaked it to be more focused toward the Industrial Internet of Things. One of the great things about making it open source, is the freedom to extend, change, and improve it!

“Blue sky” creativity is something we all think we want in our day-to-day, but I find that working with a prompt and some constratints pushes me to make more realsitic progress faster. So, with all that being said, I plan to use the #dailyUI prompts to help me push the Predix Design System forward, with the end goal of having our own offshoot design system our smaller group in the aviation space can feel passionate about. We’ll use it for IIoT applications, but it needs to flex for other applications for engineers, admins, and more. It’ll require the same rigorous critique and testing of its predecessors, but starting with something and iterating just makes more sense than trying to start from scratch
