Benson First Friday Logo

Benson First Friday is a local non-profit organization dedicated to supporting the region’s emerging and established artists by creating opportunity, exposure and experiences that help them move forward while enriching the cultural competency of the greater Omaha area. The vertical BFF speech bubble was created to echo the traditional neon signs that used to line the Benson block. The speech bubble concept was added because Benson First Friday is not only a voice for the arts but also the talk of the town. The typeface, Cubano, designed by C. Van Der Water, was chosen for its personality. The thick stroke width creates a strong and impactful presence, while the rounded edges and quirky proportions represent the relatable and personal qualities of the organization. To emphasize the different programs and projects hosted by Benson First Friday, a period was added to the logo variations. This period was turned into a heart to show the organization’s openness to and acceptance of every artist that it seeks to create opportunities for.
