Coney Packaging

Coney Island is the oldest hot dog stand in America located in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Established in 1914, it has become a local legend for its signature coney dogs with the original chili sauce recipe. The Coney Island experience is different than any other food experience you’ll ever encounter because of its history and distinctive atmosphere.

The Coney Island identity design needed to communicate its historic presence while reflecting its fun, quirky personality. The restaurant attracts a broad range of individuals and families, so its identity needed to appeal to a wide spectrum of people. I found inspiration in vernacular lettering and manipulated a typeface to reflect restaurant’s history while still remaining fun yet professional.
