Expo '55 - Submarine Voyage

Inspired by the happiest place on earth, this whimsical series explores the unsung heroes of the park; the ride vehicles.

As a part of the first, significant Tomorrowland expansion, the Submarine Voyage was a massive feat in the history and evolution of attractions. At nearly 10 minutes, this ride invited the guest to experience an underwater adventure consisting of mermaids, sunken treasure, and various sea creatures. While the attraction began as a big hit, time and upkeep took its toll on this high-maintenance ride leading to its unfortunate closing in 1998. In the following years, several rumors spread about what was next for the area, but nothing materialized. Eventually, the surprise hit, Finding Nemo was released and with it a reason to revitalize and updated the attraction, finally bringing it back from the grave. Now if they could only do that for the Peoplemover.
