Thirty Logos Design Challenge - Day 4 - Ping

Today's logo is for a "growing chat platform for businesses and small teams", think Skype and Slack. The logo is also supposed to be text-based and not use any blue colors.

The concept for this one came to me in the shower (as many creative thoughts do). I was thinking of the word "Ping" and imagined a capital "I" with a ball bouncing between the top and bottom parts of the letter, like in the video game Pong. It's the message being sent between the two people chatting. So that's the idea I started with and ended with. I like the clean and curvy style of the font and the ball trails that give the logo some color and character.
