Vibecast.
Vibecast is a website builder for DJs. Together with Jack Barham (founder of Vibecast), we created this new custom word mark for Vibecast.
The goal of the word mark was to be simple, clean, confident, friendly, inviting, and if possible appropriate undertones related to music. The trickiest part was fitting those undertones to the already established type foundation without it becoming overdone, resulting in “carnival” type.
The circular letters represent the shape of records and CDs, with the “e” inspired from the Ableton Live UI circular dials and spinning records. The “v” started life as a waveform but cut short to avoid display, placement and readability issues. In the attachment, I have added a visual view of the “v”, and “e” builds.
