Hono Web Design in Starup Weekend

I attended Startup Weekend event in Wellington last weekend. This is the web design work of our project Hono. Hono means "connecting" in Maori language. Our project is about building a platform for those who seek for help and who can offer help during and after natural disaster in NZ. It is a new idea for startup company.

About Startup Weekend:
It is a 54-hour weekend event, during which groups of developers, business managers, startup enthusiasts, marketing gurus and designers pitch ideas for new startup companies.

During the two-day event, I was responsible for design in our team. This is fun but very very intense.

My design process:
1. Discussed product idea, user type and customer type with our marketing people and developer. (Considering about the real situation after a natural disaster, the ideal product is a clean and simple website without too many images to load)
2. Discussed product functions and drafted wireframe
3. Design logo (this is the most difficult part but fun) and slogan, decided colour and fonts.
4. Let the work done!

During the process, I also kept talking to our developer to make sure he can produce the prototype nicely. As two days are too short to deliver a perfect project, I tried to improve the design as much as possible.

I provided the working drafts and screen shots in attachments. Bear with my terrible drawing and handwriting :)
Hope you like my work!
