sad character design

I have been in the fortunate position to be working on a project with an animated character as a guide through both a mobile application (as a chatbot) as well as an interactive installation.

We have been in need to create different types of character one of them being a character with a depressed attitude. I first have been working with the rudimental forms and silhouettes to communicate from first sight that this character is sad.

With the customer input of the character being preferably a robot I created a first set of drafts on which we build a more concrete concept.
