Our Time Has Value

New Podcast 087: Our Work Has Value: When to Say No to Exposure Work

I get it, you've busted your ass to scale your hobby into a monetized side hustle. However, many people don't understand the value of your craft and still perceive "your doodles" as a hobby. They think they are doing you the favor by offering you compensation in exposure.

There's a time and a place where free work makes sense, but understanding your time and the value you provide is crucial.

You'd never ask a plumber to work for exposure. Nor is it right to ask a creative who's invested years and tons of money into growing their craft and business to do the same.

Until exposure starts paying off student loans, mortgage, groceries, gas, baby Dr. bills, etc., please respect my polite decline or my stern stance on my pricing.

This episode is for the established creatives who get asked on the daily to work for exposure.

This episode is also for the creative who is building a name for themselves when exposure work may be beneficial.

I want this rant to help you realize what you're time is worth and to fuel your relentless drive to monetize your craft.
