Elevating overstacking bus routes in Singapore

I did an interactive visualization on all bus routes in Singapore. Unlike train routes, bus routes are much more complicated and stack on top of each other more often. One road could have up to 6 to 20 bus routes on it, making it impossible to stack them side-by-side.

Instead of limiting it to X & Y planes, why not go for the Z plane (up), stacking the routes on top of each other.

Colors are based on the 4 service providers in Singapore and can be toggled to rainbow HSL colors. Shortest routes are sorted to the bottom to fill up as much space as possible. Once one of the routes "overlap" on another route, it's automatically leveled up.

Bus stops are also visualized as tall white transparent polls that matches the height of the tallest route.
