In memory of: Jamer
Hello Dribbblers! This illustration has a special emotional charge and I would like you to take a minute of your time for reading it.
This is the story:
Jamer Albeiro was a country leader of his community with whom, after the peace process in Colombia, he had committed himself to begin a process of substitution of illicit crops, this means replacing coca crops with legal crops like coffee, cane, etc. Unfortunately, his initiatives were not well received in the town where he lived and he was killed on June 26, 2018.
The terrible thing about this situation is that he has not been the only one, since the beginning of 2018 more than 100 social leaders have been murdered in my country, Colombia, silencing their beliefs and their voices and nobody NEITHER the government does anything.
From there was born *Postales para la memoria*, a project focused on giving visibility to these invisible fights, to tell these voiceless stories and to illustrate these blurred faces.
I invite you to learn more about the project here: http://postalesparalamemoria.com
and to share so that the world sees what happens in Colombia.
