Cancer research plot in simplified design

The allegory explains that basic idea of this pipeline is to scan long stretches of DNA (including often ignored deep intronic regions) for a single mismatch (mutation) that might just turns off the whole gene. Some of these mutations are so far away from exons that in principle they should not have any influence on mRNAs (protein coding regions) but as turned out they can play a deciding role in overall expression of cancer related genes.
