Photos App

Having a kid means you take a lot of photos. Like really a lot... I have my iPhone and actual camera basically all the time with me, literally. I sometimes shoot 20 same photos with one device and then 10 more exactly the same photos with another device... It's stupid – I know, but I can't help it.

So I've been looking for the best workflow for managing, editing and sharing photos. And surprisingly I haven't found the holy grail. iCloud, Google Photos, Flickr, (...) – they all have pros and cons.

The best one for me (so far) was Photos.app (iCloud) because it basically does quite a lot of things automatically (especially syncing) and it just works across devices.

But I had some issues with Information Architecture, UX and bunch of features so I've spent couple hours last week playing with Photos App UI. And here's the results.

• There's one type of albums.
• Albums are like folders - you can have albums inside albums.
• The same albums can be shared just by toggling a switch.
• More bulk actions: editing, tagging, rotating, uploading...
• "People" and "Places" are built-in Search functionality.
• No clutter like "activity", "projects", "memories", etc...

Sorry for a bit long story about such a boring topic 🤷.
