Progression of Vehicle Concepts Dribbble

Built Robotics creates autonomous construction vehicles, and I worked with the team to design the branding and livery for the vehicles. Forza from @Hoefler&Co. forms the basis of the type used.

When it came to designing the vehicle, we drew inspiration from many sources: army war planes, race cars, shipping tankers, truck mud flaps, and other vehicle imagery. We iterated over 70 designs for the vehicle and landed on the "dipped" version as a balance between the over-the-top race cars and the super-minimalist trend in startup design. I do have a fondness for the tiger-stripe version we did, but I admit it would have been too kitschy in the long-term.

The work is still ongoing, and we're excited to be painting newer (and bigger) equipment. Getting these things painted isn't easy. Check out the photographs of the vehicle on the job site in the thumbnails.

You can read more about the project on my portfolio.
