The Ferrari 250 GTO, nicknamed 'Il Mostro' (The Monster) is regarded by many as not only the most stunningly beautiful Ferrari ever made, but the most beautiful car ever. Period. And it's not hard to argue why.

Yet worldwide racing credibility for this beautiful monster came after only a few outings. One race in particular stood out in this coupe's first year during the gruelling 24 Heures Du Mans debut on April 6th, 1962 (Circuit de la Sarthe, Le Mans, France).
