Pride is an inwardly directed emotion that carries two antithetical meanings. With a negative connotation pride refers to a foolishly and irrationally corrupt sense of one's personal value, status or accomplishments, used synonymously with hubris.

What is the pride month?
Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Pride Month (LGBT Pride Month) is currently celebrated each year in the month of June to honor the 1969 Stonewall riots in Manhattan. The Stonewall riots were a tipping point for the Gay Liberation Movement in the United States.

LGBT History Month is intended to encourage honesty and openness about being lesbian, gay, bisexual or transgender. Gay and Lesbian Pride Month is celebrated each year during the month of June. The last Sunday in June is celebrated as Gay Pride Day.
