Farmers literally bet the farm, year after year. Investing as much as $1 million into seeds, and who knows how much more into land rental, fertilizer, equipment leasing and repairs, labor, and crop protection. It's a big job that comes with a lot of risk--but farmers wouldn't have it any other way. After spending considerable time with farmers and learning about their daily lives, what troubles them, what excites them, we found that in the end, they needed a sensible way to figure out what seeds would be the best options for them, based on their fields and equipment.
