SNF Showdown Logo Options

BRFootball (Bleacher Report) teamed up with the Steve Nash Foundation this year for the 11th Annual SNF Showdown in New York City.
SNF Showdown is a event where former Pro Basketball player Steve Nash assembles a group of NBA Players (and other celebrities) and has them battle it out in a soccer game for charity.
Many options were considered for this logo, but I decided to create a seal as it a predominant element in the soccer industry. The event takes place in the lower east side therefore, the ball icon draws inspiration from its surroundings. The icon can be viewed in 3 ways: a top down view of a city with intersecting organic streets, an abstraction of a city sewer grate, and finally as a soccer ball. The version that was chosen was the bottom one, but I feel that the other directions were interesting enough to share.
