FUCK YEAH - Hand Lettering Circle

Some hand-drawn oldschool lettering of the words FUCK YEAH. Done initially to be used as a rubber stamp, but evolved quite naturally into patches and shirts.

I usually start these types of illustrations with a big bold (Ariel Bold) type font. Then push and prod the letters around until they're sitting in the right places, and feeling symmetrical. I'll then fatten them up by hand. Wobble them. Liquify them. Warp them. Wobble them again. Slowly filling in each gap until it's even all around. Often I'll also flip it and rotate it, so that I stop looking at them as letters.

The whole process takes about an hour from start to finish and I really love working on letters in this way.
