Cowboy Icon

Before my desire to become a Graphic Designer came about, I spent my whole childhood dreaming about being a cowboy. From the boots, to the hats and even spurs, I had it all. My mom could never get me out my western gear... Trust me, I have the pictures to prove it.

From my favorite song to date "Cowboy Song" - by Thin Lizzy, being discovered while building a cowboy Lego set with my dad and brother.

Riding sheep in the rodeo when I was only 5-7 years old.

Woody from Toy Story happening.

Pop-Pop Huegel helping me memorize all the cattle breeds while working on his farm.

And obviously, making doodles and sketches of the wild-west. My family thought I was destined to be out on the range.

I let some of my inner child come out with this piece as it was inspired by a $6 cowboy book I picked up at a thrift shop over the weekend. As I embark on my own journey against the norm, it feels good to know there's still a little bit of the cowboy I aimed to be left in my life.

Just don't mistake this icon for any relation to that awful NFL team in Dallas.... GO BIRDS.
