WIP Painting

This is my latest all-consuming piece. Can't show the whole thing so you get... tada, the butt-end. I didn't realize it but after doing research, waves are relatively equidistant from each other. They're essentially energy rolling through water, even as they hit the shore. So the waves (not sure if they're easy to see for what they are yet) are drawn onto a first point perspective grid.

I learned a lot about seascapes and waves by reading this blog http://stapletonkearns.blogspot.com/2010/03/wave-anatomy-and-its-importance-to.html by Stapleton Kearns. I also have a lovely book of wave photography which inspires me and reminds me of how amazing mother nature is.

You can see the beginnings of spirally cloud renderings, just the rough drawing and a bit of level adjustment to get them to stand out. Overall, I love this piece and can't wait for it to be done. I adore it. It is romantic, lovey-dovey and makes me cry... which is often a good sign.
