J is for Jupiter

The Juno spacecraft captured this color-enhanced image on April 1, 2018, during its 12th close flyby of Jupiter. When its cameras took this shot, the spacecraft was about 7,659 miles (12,326 km) from the tops of the clouds over the planet’s northern latitude.

Citizen scientist Kevin M. Gill processed this image using data from the JunoCam imager. JunoCam’s raw images are available for the public to peruse and process into image products here.
