Dribbble Debut Shot- Round Trippers

About the Project: This animation is a part of creative campaign to promote Homestays for a travel company. I was really fortunate to work on the end to end development of animation development of this animation. My responsibilities includes concept, character design, environment design, storyboarding and finally the animation.

Character Design Process/ Approach:
The characters in the animation are 4 friends and together they are named as 'Round Trippers'. We have followed a minimalistic approach while designing the characters so that they are easy to animate within the stiff deadline. Following are the ways we have achieved minimalism:
1) The characters are unibody circular shapes. Easiest to animate. Reminds me of ball bounce which is the first thing we learn in animation :)
2) We have avoided facial features to keep the characters simple and easy to animate. Mustaches for boys and specs/shades for girls are just enough for us to communicate happy and sad expressions.
