Self portrait with a deeper meaning

At the time of this project, October of 2016, I
had recently been in a self inflicted car accident in my red
Camaro. The crazy and what seems to be random shapes and
patterns actually have an underlying meaning. I made a left turn
and accelerated faster than my tires could grip the asphalt in the
rainy weather; and before I could tell what was happening, I spun
a full 360 degrees and my car was sitting on the curb. In order to
reflect this incident into my portrait I took simple visuals that are
associated with different parts of the scene. For example, the
yellow lines are the double yellows on a road, and the swirls in my
hair symbolize the confusion and also the flow in my hair. The
more subtle patterns in the sunglasses represent the color of my
car and the asphalt while being relatively accurate of what
sunglasses look like.
