The city of Chicago is deeply rooted in military history. It is home to the Battle of Midway Memorial which highlights the contributions of the pilots, engineers, and City of Chicago during World War II. The Brigade logo educes that military history with chevron insignia stripes under a block 'C' with a 6-pointed star like the ones used on the city flag.
