8/52: There Will Be Blood (2009) - ★★★★½

Review: "I find it absolutely crazy that Dillon Freasier has only ever done this film and that’s it. He absolutely blew me away with the nuances in his facial expressions and silent anger. Guess that’s testament to PTA’s directing skill. This is my first proper PTA experience, and I’ve been looking forward to it for a while as the Glasgow Film Theatre was showing it in 35mm. All this hype, and it still managed to live up to it. Fair play man. Fair play. Also my first DDL outing, and he blew my mind. Hilarious accent tho. Paul Dano disturbed me deeply. As a churchgoer, creepy, false church leaders get right under my skin, and this was in the best way in this film. Proper interesting comparing the lack of morality with the pastor and the oil man."
