The name comes from the building's history; it's a combination of two of the company names that occupied the space (one dating as far back to the 1800s). 'Pacific' is a nod to the first documented historical use of the property, when it was owned by Pacific Guano Company, while 'Box & Crate' comes from Dixie Box & Crate, the most recent industrial user of the property. The juxtaposition of old and new in the name served as major inspiration for the nuances of the branding/design.
