Z — Zodiac

Z - Zodiac. The zodiac stretches about 8-9 degrees either side of the ecliptic - the circular path on the celestial sphere that the Sun appears to follow over the course of a year. There are 12 constellations through which the ecliptic passes known as the Zodiacal Constellations. Because most of the constellations through which the ecliptic passes represent animals, the ancient Greeks called its zone zōdiakos kyklos, “circle of animals,” or ta zōdia, “the little animals.
