Naming Process

We were recently approached by a travel agency in need of creating a new .com name for a new travel agency sister company. Here are some names (of dozens) that we came up with. Since I don't see much naming processes on Dribbble, thought it'd be fun to share!

Here are some questions we ask when discovering new names:

• How does the name look on light BG, dark BG or image BG. • What does the name mean if you DEFINE it or if you GOOGLE it. • Does the name have a negative meaning in other languages? Negative images in google? • Also how does the word sound if used in a sentence in everyday lingo. Is it easy to say it quickly 10 times? • Is it memorable and catchy? Easy to remember? • How well does the name flow? Does it have a harsh or soft ending from word to word? • How well is the visual balance of the word when its spelled out? How does an ALL CAPS version look like? • How does it look on a website, app or printed? • What are the strongest characteristics of the name and letters that spell it out. • What are potential brand direction we can take this name in? • Are there other brands using this name? Any trademarks? • Is the .com required? Whats the budget range to stay within?

See attachment for more details :) Let me know your thoughts!
