Pool Illustration

Another detail shot from this series. To be honest, I struggled with this one, finding the right angle and drawing the right shapes that made the most sense was truly challenging. I sketch out my concept very loosely then, use MANY reference images to help me compose a whole illustration. Once I have all the pieces where together I start illustrating sometime removing elements and adding new ones that work best for the composition. How do you guys do it?
