Coastal Nomad Travel Blog

Here is Coastal Nomad, a blog and travel site concept I spent doing over the last few days after work this week. As I've been doing a lot of travel recently, and spending a lot of time on similar sites like this, I thought I'd have a go making one of my own.

The concept is based around an image carousel which features some recently used photography on the site, which can take the user to various sections of either the homepage, or site itself. As I don't see as many image carousels around as I used to, primarily due to relative unease I've seen surrounding them in the UX world, I wanted to see if one could be implemented here. The next section of the site focuses on recent articles posted on the site. WIth a brief excerpt and a call to action to go into the article directly, as well as some photography used within the article, which I tried to lift off the page through the use of shadows.

The branding here is focused around a light teal and white font. As well as a light gray for other primary text on the page. On any images used, I chose to use the same white font, as well as a more opaque version of the same teal, as I felt it kept the focus primarily on the images.

While I do have some work in progress for an expanded version of the site, I wanted to keep it to the main landing page for Dribble.
