Siding Specials - Painted

I used an old technique I haven't tried in awhile to make this type look like it's painted on. Basically I made a black and white version of the background and used that as a mask on the text, then adjusting the density until it looks right (otherwise the dark ridges are almost totally transparent). I find this method creates a much more believable finish than just doing a multiply/screen blend mode. Finishing touches were adding some grunge and paint spatters around the outside. The font I used is Muffler.
