It's a Gundam Wiki!

I've been immensely inspired by @bethanyheck ‘s writings on typeface design, and wanted to take a crack at breaking out of my two-fonts-max habit.

Since Gunpla model kits were a staple of my childhood, I decided to riff on her wonderful Gundam type exercise from my perspective as a web/UI designer. I ended up redesigning the Gundam Thunderbolt Wiki, taking inspiration from the cheap but beautiful light-grey paper a lot of my childhood mangas were printed on.

I feel like I partially succeeded. I'm pretty happy with the design, but finding good rationale to integrate multiple fonts proved to be tricky. Going forwards, I'm going to try to find ways to more organically mix multiple fonts instead of assigning them their own sections, which is kind of what happened here.
