#5 - Campbell's Soup Company Water Tower

Established in 1869, Campbell's Soup Company is headquartered across the Delaware River in Camden, NJ. Known for it's iconic label and tomato soup, it's no shock that this brand is nested in New Jersey amongst many ripe tomatoes. Although, in 1979 controversy struck when the company decided to stop using Jersey tomatoes in favor of using tomato paste that was shipped from California. *eye-roll*

The production plant closed in 1990 / demo-ed in 1991, and with it went these iconic branded water towers. While that's a bummer, it still makes me smile to think this slice of Americana was based right here, on the Philly waterfront.
