Wichita Flyers
Team 22/32 of #TheUFLProject – the Wichita Flyers.
Wichita, Kansas is known as the “Air Capital of the World”, producing over 42% of the world’s general aviation fleet, thus a franchise named the “Wichita Flyers” is fitting. The city began as a trading post on the Chisholm Trail, but in the early 1900s, businessmen would establish aircraft manufacturers including (Beechcraft, Cessna, and Stearman Aircraft) that would soon bloom into a major hub, with more than a quarter million aircrafts built in Kansas since 1919.
The Flyers sport a kelly green and black color scheme with touches of dark laurel green in the sleeve stripes and trimmings and a marigold yellow used as a specialty. The primary “winged W” likens to both the aircraft industry and the Wichita city seal – the “W” is built in the same vertically-favored manner. The team wordmark and the rest of the custom typeface features angles in the letterforms that resemble the contour and aerodynamics of an aircraft.
