Time 2 Rest: Rest Timer App
I created the UI design for an app that allows to create a set of timers to help keep track of their sets without having to remember, use a dedicated workout app or write with pen and paper.
As someone who frequents the gym at least 4 times a week, it's easy to keep track of how many sets I've done without having my workout app open to tell me. It's also a pain to use that app if I want to add a random exercise or I just want to "wing it" on the day. This sparked the idea of Time 2 Rest.
Generally lifters have a certain number of sets with the same rest time in between so I made it simple - enter your rest time, enter your number of sets, name the group and away you go!
The number of sets left as well as the time left before your next set is all laid out in front of you!
Numbers of sets and rest times will often be the same in many workout routines - 3 sets of rows, 3 sets of deadlifts etc - so it's super easy to just have one group for "heavy" exercises and reset the timers on the sets themselves.
Furthermore, you can have a number of different timers for each exercise by grouping them - you may have a group of timers for "heavy" lifts, a group of timers for "accessories" and then a group of timers for "core".
You can find the full wireframes in the attachments along with the user-flow and other goodies!
Note: This was one of my first self-driven projects that I did about 6 months ago and since then I've learnt a lot and generally become a better designer. I decided to update the UI 2 months ago and this is it!
To know more about my design process on this project, check out the Medium. post I made of the original project. I will update it soon to reflect the new, update UI.
As always, thanks for checking out my work!
