X-LAB Event

I’m working on a fun visual for X-LAB - an internal hackathon-style event that is being hosted at a tech startup client. As this is the first of the event series, I would like this version of the visual to be fairly generic (geometric “maker/doer” shapes) but the idea is that the X-LAB logo shape can be re-themed for subsequent events. I’m slightly concerned about the readability of “X” but I do want it to be a playful element in the design. Thoughts?
