Connecting Low-Income Family Housing Units with Tech Companies

The organization is called Bit by Bit (Hah, get it?), and it's mission is as the title says. More importantly, we wish to give hope to students from these low-income family housing units--convince them that jobs at a tech company are goals worth pursuing. Whether or not they pursue it is another matter, but want them to know that they *can. This means that we host weekly coding lessons with the kids, taught by volunteers from tech companies. Our own mentors go in to fill in the gaps, as I for one, am passionate about teaching!

The two housing organizations listed are real housing partners for Bit by Bit, and LinkedIn is indeed offering the program space! The program launched in San Leandro on February 14 and launches in San Francisco on March 8 with a tech tour. You can learn more at littlebitbybit.org. Please let me know if you're interested in helping this cause, and if you can, we'd really appreciate any word of mouth you could spread. I'll be following up with more information, as we learn more about the folks that we're trying to help. Excited to have the opportunity!
